OpenAI today announced that it has reached an agreement to bring back Sam Altman as CEO and appoint new board members after nearly all of its employees threatened to quit over his surprise sacking. Minutes after Sam Altman announced his decision to return as OpenAI CEO, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said they have discussed the matter and agreed that this is 'a first essential step' to build a 'more stable, well-informed, and effective governance' in OpenAI. Altman had shot to fame with the launch of ChatGPT last year, which ignited a race to advance AI research and development.
